Running Routes around the club |
The first map shows 3 regular routes that are used by the Club.
All these routes start and end in Irishtown Stadium. Route 1 - Is a 5k that goes along the strand and is well lit so suitable for winter runs. It goes up towards Merrion Gates and turns round at the train tracks and comes back the same direction. This route has become quite popular with many Crusaders ever since a group of them saw Colin Farrell while out on this route. Route 2 - This Route is the same as the first one but longer. When you get to the train tracks you keep going straight up towards Booterstown. At the Dart station at Booterstown is the turnaround point for this run it will give you a 8K run there and back. If your feeling up to it you can head into the park for a 2K loop to bring it up to a full 10k run. Route 3 - This is a great run for a nice summers day. It's a 5K run that brings you up to the pier beside Poolbeg Towers. There is a few hills to get up on the way out but it is worth it when you see the view at the top of the hills. A lot of runners will stop at the start of the pier because of the uneven surface but if you keep going you can go all the way to the light house. Not a very well lit route and we wouldn't recommend it in the dark. |
If your looking for a different Route, the map below shows a route that brings you through Donnybrook and Ballsbridge.
