Senior Section
As well as recreational runners, there are developmental and elite athletes running in the red and white. Coached by our very own in house team of highly skilled running specialists and expert trainers. A step up from the Fit 4 Life group is the senior section of the club. It is comprised of casual and competitive runners. If your a more proficient runner or want to challenge yourself beyond Fit 4 Life. The Senior section could be what you are looking for.
Training in this group is tailored to suit your own personal abilities and goals. This encourages structure to your training and becomes the cornerstone of your success. This tried and proven formula gives runners the groundwork to build a solid foundation on which to build up to a higher standard of ability and take their running to the next level and beyond!
The Senior training is designed to vastly improve your running ability and fitness level. At this level many like to take part in various competitions from road race to cross country and everything else in between. The Senior sections motto is to work hard and play hard. While the sessions can be challenging but rewarding, they also like to socialize regularly meeting up for post session refreshments and events.
The Seniors section often mix their running surfaces. Too much running on one surface can lead to repetitive strain injuries so where possible we vary between road/grass/trail and path making you accustom to different surfaces as well as helping to relieve injury concerns.
If you like to race then this is the group for you, we regularly enter teams into various events including leagues and championships. Nothing compares to be on a team representing your club at a county or national championship.
The club enjoys regular success with numerous national champions and league titles to its credit.
Notably, Crusaders have produced a number of Olympians, the first being the legendary Ronnie Delaney who won 1,500m Gold at the Melbourne 1956 Olympics.
