Questions
Here we Rapidly answer the most asked questions from people looking to join...
- Can you use the Track outside of training sessions? - Yes, once the track is open and not booked by someone else.
- Will there be people around my own level / ability there - Yes, absolutely, we have runners of similar standard to you, both men and women, who train together both in terms of organised club sessions and also on an ad hoc basis.
- Do you offer a trial period - Yes Two Weeks just contact us first at [email protected]
- What do your sessions typically include? - The sessions you can avail of depend to some extent as to what you are training for but typically Tuesdays involve VO2Max-type interval training (400s, 600s, pyramids etc, with rests or active recoveries). Thursday evenings in Seán Moore Park are tempo sessions conducted on a 1km loop and vary each week. Saturday sessions take place in the Phoenix Park around the Acres, on the hills near the Magazine Fort and on the Khyber Pass. We also have social runs (easier pace) on Thursday and most Sunday morning.
- Does membership with the club include coaching / can I have my own coach? - Crusaders include top coaches for all the sessions described above. They normally work with the group but can provide one to one feed back as well as Specific training plans for you. If you choose to employ an external coach, that’s generally no issue, except that you would need to ensure your sessions don’t clash with the sessions we provide.
