Tuesday Track Sessions for Senior Distance Runners:
  • 40 minute slots are being allocated – athletes are requested to arrive warmed-up and leave the track immediately after their session to carry out their cool-down.
  • Track entrance/exit will be via the vehicular gate to the left of the Stadium entrance – this will be controlled by Safety Coordinators – please follow their instructions.
  • Athletes will be given a 10-minute period to gain admission, this will ensure groups will not interact.
  • Outside the gate the ground will be clearly marked at 2 metre intervals to assist with social distance queuing.
  • After gaining entry please go directly to the left (along the side of the 5-a-side pitches) where we will have similar 2 metre distances marked.
  • Three areas, to the right and left of the track store ramp, and around the Pole Vault covering, will be marked and used for personal items, inc water bottles, hand sanitisers etc. This will ensure the incoming group are separated from the outgoing group.
  • All athletes will do the same session – on Tuesday this will be timed intervals, controlled by a coach using a whistle, to indicate intensity and recoveries.
  • Athletes will commence their session 50metres apart, within their allocated lane.
  • Overtaking - every effort will be made to ensure you are placed in the relevant lane to avoid over taking. However if overtaking please check around you to ensure you do not interfere with any other athlete, ensure you can pass while maintaining distance - this might mean waiting for a break in another lane. Do not return to your original lane unless you are 10 metres in front of the athlete you are overtaking.
  • The athletes exiting the track will exit via the ramp which leads to the track store.
